Conversations in Concert

27 November 2020

Two of the UK’s outstanding young performance poets present brand-new poems they have written specially for this concert in response to music by Bach, Biber and Telemann played by of one of the world’s best-loved violinists.

We regret that, owing to the illness of one of the participants, we were not able to record this concert in LSO St Luke’s on the original date as planned.

Despite our best efforts, it has not been possible amid the increasing Covid restrictions to bring Abena-Essah Bediako, Isaiah Hull and Rachel Podger together again in the same place to record, though we hope this may yet be possible at a later date.

We still wanted to bring you something of the project, however, so have asked director Thomas Guthrie to produce this film presenting Rachel playing in LSO St Luke’s, and Abena reciting the three poems she had written specially for this concert in response to Rachel’s performances.

Following that, you will hear some bonus performances by Rachel.
